I-80 east · rural addresses welcome
Shipping containers
in Fernley, NV.
New and used 20ft and 40ft shipping containers delivered east on I-80 to Fernley, from the industrial park to the acreage out past the pavement.
Straight east on I-80
Fernley sits about thirty miles east of our yard on I-80, which puts it on the same delivery rhythm as Reno and Sparks. Our own tilt-bed trucks make the run, and the driver sets the container on the spot you picked instead of leaving it wherever the trailer stopped. We quote delivery with the container once we know the address, so the price you agree to covers getting it there and putting it down.
Two things make Fernley different from a delivery inside city limits: a lot of the addresses are rural, and a lot of the access is dirt. Neither is a problem. Both are worth ten minutes of planning. Look at what is in stock on the inventory page, then send us the address and tell us how you get to the spot.
~30 mi
East of the yard
Fernley rides the I-80 corridor, so it schedules like a local delivery.

Straight approach
Rough working room for the tilt-bed to set a 40ft, plus space to swing in. Less for a 20ft.

Plus tax. Prices track the steel market and get confirmed the day you order.
The industrial park and the businesses around it
The distribution and industrial park on the north side of town is the reason a lot of Fernley exists in its current shape, and it drives a steady need for storage that goes on your own ground. Containers go in for seasonal stock, for packaging and pallets, for spare parts, and for the contractors and service companies that work the park and need a secure box on their own yard. On a commercial lot a 40ft high cube is the efficient buy: the most cubic feet per dollar we sell and headroom to stack.
If you need drive-through access for long material, ask about a double-door container with doors at both ends. If you want to walk in and out all day without swinging a full set of cargo doors, ask about a man door with a rooftop vent. Both are configurations we stock rather than things we build.
New houses, bigger lots, no outbuilding
Fernley has been adding houses faster than it has been adding garages, and the lots out here are generous enough that there is room beside most of them for a steel building that arrives finished. That is the practical appeal. A 20ft container holds the side-by-side, the tools, the camping gear, and the things a two-car garage stopped fitting the day you moved in, and it locks with a padlock inside a lock box. No framing, no roofing, no weekend spent building something you will patch in five years.
Gravel pad, dirt road, and the call the driver makes
This is the part worth reading twice if your address is out past the pavement. Our driver will look at the road and the spot when he gets there, and if the ground is soft enough to bury a loaded truck he is going to say so rather than sink it. You can head that off easily:
- Build a small gravel pad. A few inches of compacted gravel or road base under where the four corners will land is the single best thing you can do. It keeps the container level and out of the mud.
- Tell us about the last mile. Soft sand, a wash crossing, a steep pitch out of a ditch, or a cattle guard with a weight question on it. We would rather know in advance.
- Check overhead. Power drops, tree limbs, and gate headers. The bed tilts up high when it sets a container.
- Mark the spot. Stakes or paint so the driver sets it where you meant, facing the way you want the doors to open.
- Leave straight room. The truck needs to back in reasonably straight and pull forward as the container slides off.
Access gets checked first
We go over access with you before delivery day, not on arrival. Send a photo of the approach with your quote request and we will tell you honestly what will fit.
Used, or new one-trip
Most rural Fernley buyers land on a certified cargo-worthy used container. It carries a decade or more of ocean service, shows dents and surface rust, and is inspected wind and water tight with a solid marine plywood floor. For a business frontage or anyone who wants it looking sharp, a new one-trip arrives essentially unmarked with factory paint and a lock box. For more on the yard, hours, and how we work, see our Reno page, or read the site prep guide before you pick your spot.
Common questions
Do you deliver to rural Fernley addresses?
Yes. Dirt roads and acreage are normal for us. We ask about the last mile ahead of time so the driver is not deciding at your gate.
Do I need a gravel pad?
Not strictly, but it is the best money you will spend. A few inches of compacted gravel under the four corners keeps the container level and out of the mud through spring.
What if my driveway is soft sand?
Tell us before delivery day. Sometimes we set the container at the firm end of the drive instead, and sometimes a load of road base solves it. We will give you a straight answer.
How fast can you deliver to Fernley?
Usually within a few days of your order, and often faster. It is a short run on the I-80 corridor.
Can I get doors on both ends?
Yes. We stock double-door containers with cargo doors at each end, which makes drive-through access for long material easy. Ask when you request your quote.
