Shipping containers
in Carson City, NV.

New and used shipping containers delivered down the I-580 and US-395 corridor to Carson City, Mound House, Minden, and Gardnerville, set where you want them.

Down the 580 and 395, in one run

Carson City sits at the end of a clean delivery route for us: south on I-580, onto US-395, and straight into town. Mound House is a few minutes east on US-50, and the Carson Valley addresses in Minden, Gardnerville, and the ranch country below them are on the same corridor. Our drivers run a tilt-bed truck and set the container on the spot you choose, and delivery is quoted with the container so there is nothing added afterward.

Carson has a mix of tight older streets downtown, hillside lots on the west side, and wide flat parcels east and south. That mix decides more about your container than anything else, so we ask about the approach before we load. Photos help. See what is in the yard on the inventory page and send us the details when you are ready.

Mound House, light industrial, and small business overflow

The industrial strip out toward Mound House is full of shops working out of buildings that were the right size three years ago. A container on the yard solves the overflow problem at a fraction of what more building costs, and it goes exactly where the work happens. Contractors serving the capital, sign shops, welders, and equipment dealers all use them the same way: put the slow-moving stock, the seasonal gear, or the tooling in steel and get the floor back.

For a commercial yard, a 40ft high cube is usually the right buy. It costs less per cubic foot than any other size and the extra height clears a stacked pallet. If your lot is tight or you want two boxes for two purposes, two 20ft containers often place better than a single 40.

Carson Valley ranches and equestrian properties

Below town the valley runs to hay ground, horse property, and small ranches. A steel container is a straightforward answer to a set of problems those places all share: rodents in the feed, a saddle room with no real lock on it, a tractor implement sitting out in the weather, and a hay stack that needs the tarps and fencing stored somewhere dry. A container takes all of that, closes on lock rods, and does not need a roof replaced in fifteen years.

  • $
Feed and tack kept dry and sealed against rodents, with doors that latch properly.
  • $
Implements and shop tooling under cover instead of parked in the weeds.
  • $
Arena and event gear locked up between shows.
  • $
Fencing, posts, and irrigation in one place instead of three piles.
  • $
A second box near the barn so nobody walks the length of the property for a wrench.

Wind and snow, and why steel does not care

Carson City gets real wind coming off the Sierra front and enough winter to punish anything flimsy. A resin shed becomes a sail. A framed shed roof collects snow and eventually tells you about it. A shipping container weighs several thousand pounds empty, has a corrugated steel roof, and was built to cross oceans stacked eight high. The one thing it does want is a level base under its four corners: gravel, compacted decomposed granite, blocks, or footings. Set it level and the doors keep swinging true through every season. The site prep guide walks through what that takes.

Check local rules first

Carson City and Douglas County each have their own take on accessory structures, and some subdivisions add their own. A short call to your planning office before delivery day saves surprises.

Used or new for a Carson City buyer

A certified cargo-worthy used container has ten to fifteen years of ocean service behind it. It shows dents and surface rust, and it is inspected wind and water tight with a solid floor and doors that seal. That is the value buy, and on a working ranch it is usually the right one. A new one-trip container has made a single crossing, arrives with factory paint and a lock box, and looks the part on a lot where customers see it. Financing is available on either one, so ask when you request your quote.

Common questions

Do you deliver to Minden and Gardnerville?

Yes. Carson City, Mound House, Minden, Gardnerville, and the Carson Valley ranch addresses below them are all in our regular delivery area.

How level does the ground need to be?

Level under the four corners is what matters, not the whole footprint. Gravel, compacted decomposed granite, blocks, or footings all work. A container set out of level will bind its doors.

Will a container handle Carson wind and snow?

Yes. It is corrugated Corten steel weighing several thousand pounds empty, built for ocean service. Keep it off bare soft soil and level at the corners and weather is not an issue.

Do I need a permit in Carson City or Douglas County?

Rules differ by jurisdiction and by subdivision. Many properties treat a container as an accessory structure. Check with your county planning office before delivery.

Can I use a container for hay and feed storage?

Yes, and it is a common use here. The doors seal, the floor is marine plywood, and rodents cannot chew through steel. A roof vent option helps keep air moving.
